2015 PDC Summit: Take the Opportunity to Learn

As business professionals it can be much too easy to get wrapped up in the day to day tasks of our jobs. Meetings, conference calls, email, and power lunches help each month run into the next. That's why it is so important to get out of our daily routines once in a while and learn something new. The 2015 PDC Summit is the perfect venue to do just that.

Participation

As Woody Allen famously said, "80% of success is showing up." Just walking out onto the Trade Show floor will have you more than half the way to success. But if you actually want to learn something, you will need to go a little bit further and actually participate. Luckily, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved at this yea's Summit. Start by attending the events that the show has planned, including the Welcome Reception on Sunday, March 15th at 6PM and the Lunch, and Architecture for Health Gallery on Monday at 10:45 am. There will also be various demonstrations and learning events scheduled throughout the show, so be sure to check your schedule for more ideas. The more you participate, the more you will be able to learn.

Always Be Open

In a bit of a twist on the old sales mantra "Always Be Closing" one of the best ways to learn at a trade show is by keeping an open mind. As you're walking the trade show floor, there will be plenty of sales people vying for your attention, many of whom you may want to ignore. But if you truly want to learn more about how to grow your business and improve efficiency, keeping an open mind can be paramount. Talk to exhibitors who are passionate about their products and you might be surprised how much you can learn.

Networking

There are a lot of different ways to look at trade show networking. Of course, generating leads through your new contacts is always a goal, but the truth is that networking can also be an essential learning tool. Other customers in the same space as you may have a lot to teach you about business operations, strategies, and who knows what else. Don't Be Afraid of a Little Competition

With so many vendors and customers in attendance, your competitors are very likely to be at the Summit, too. But that's actually a good thing. Your competitors can actually provide one of the most valuable learning experiences. They can offer a new perspective on your customer base and your industry.

The bottom line is that if you are attending the ASHE PDC Summit to learn, there will be plenty of opportunities...you just need to take advantage of them.
