The HEPACART™ AnteRoom is a versatile and effective product that allows healthcare facilities to enact patient isolation or renovation containment in a matter of minutes. The portable aluminum AnteRoom is easy to use and easy to clean, minimizing non-recyclable waste and maximizing worker productivity, all without sacrificing patient safety.
A dust containment cart, such as a HEPACART™ unit, is much more mobile than an AnteRoom and serves a different purpose. While different brands have different features, each HEPACART™ has swivel-lock, non-marring casters that protect floors and is rated to support 900 pounds. Dust containment carts can hold one to two workers in addition to a ladder, with the cart extending to reach the ceiling easily, sealing the workers away from patient areas or other equipment.
Before purchasing a dust containment cart, be sure to check that the manufacturer has tested the cart for its seal, ensuring that particles must pass through a HEPA filtration system before being released into the common areas surrounding the cart. Some carts, such as those from HEPACART™, do come with embedded negative air machines for added security.
You will most commonly find a dust containment cart in a healthcare facility, but they are also useful in data centers and server rooms. The portable cart makes it easy for workers to remove ceiling tiles, engage in minor duct work or perform electrical work above ceilings. Because the cart is sealed, dust and debris that lives above the ceiling is kept contained and does not come in contact with patients or sensitive equipment.
Many facilities find that they have a use for both dust containment carts and anterooms. However, if you are having trouble deciding between one or the other, consider the following questions:
• Do you need a stationary solution or portable dust containment?
Once you are able to answer these questions you shoule be able to choose which dust containment tool is right for your project.
